- A process in which translation runs automatically and in parallel with software development rather than as a step after the release cycle. Usually implemented through an API connection to Git repositories.
- ICU message format
- A standard for handling plurals, gender and number formatting in multilingual applications. It supports complex grammatical cases (zero, one, two, few, many, other) for languages such as Arabic or Polish.
- CAT tools (computer-aided translation)
- Specialist software that supports professional translators at work. It covers translation memories, termbases and contextual QA. Not the same thing as plain machine translation.
