Working at tolingo
We spend the majority of the day at work – so it’s important that we feel comfortable in our working environment. For us, that means a culture of open communication and feedback based on mutual respect and trust. Our flat organisational structure is a particularly important part of this. We don’t just talk about participation – we allow everyone to be actively involved!
Exciting and challenging work is even more exciting with a comprehensive package to match, which is why we offer an attractive, performance-based salary. People who perform well should be financially rewarded for it too.
Provision for your retirement is important! We think the same, which is why we offer all colleagues a workplace pension plan as a matter of course. And rather than pocketing the tax savings for the company, we pass on the entire tax benefit to our employees through deferred compensation.
Don’t like the idea of a 9-to-5 day? We’ll find a solution. Your day can start as late as 10 a.m. or as early as 8 a.m. – whenever you’re most productive.
We care about our employees’ health, and offer a range of nutrition, exercise and safety-related health promotion services.
We offer you an optional, tolingo-subsidised annual pass for the local public transport systems, which not only allows you to save money, but also to do something good for the environment.
As a tolingo employee, you can take advantage of great employee discounts on a variety of products from well-known manufacturers as well as a number of cultural events.
‘Lucky lunches’ that help employees get to know colleagues from other departments, summer and winter parties, or even a simple after-work table tennis match – we organise numerous different events where we can have fun together as a team. Our life as a group doesn’t stop at 6 p.m.
All of our employees get 26 days holiday per calendar year. Furthermore, every employee has the option of taking up to four additional days of paid leave.
Companies with international operations frequently require translations that are recognised by ministries, authorities and courts. Certified translations are carried out by our sworn specialist translators. They have the right stamp and can ensure official certification.
Learn moreWe have big plans, but we can only achieve them together. At tolingo, we recognize and value everyone's contribution to achieving our goals. We never lose sight of our goals, and are always ready to go the extra mile to achieve them.
Our focus is on the client. Whether the work involves a CV translation or a complex translation project, our dedicated contacts deliver the best solution for every client.
We embrace and encourage a culture of open feedback. When communicating, we aim to always be transparent and meet each person where they are. Respect and trust are two cornerstones of communication for us.
We bring the world together – even in our offices. We’re proud to have around 50 employees from more than 10 countries working at tolingo. We nurture each individual’s strengths and ensure that we encourage our continued growth together.
Personal initiative is not just a ‘nice, but nonessential’ extra. We want everyone to express their ideas and be actively involved. Our aim is to work together to define and optimise processes and play a part in the future development of tolingo.
We develop an individual induction plan for every new employee to help them settle in as well as possible. On-the-job training, coaching and various training courses help us get you up to speed in just a short time, and your personal mentor will be on hand as your contact throughout your entire induction period.
Even as a small company, being socially responsible is important to us. This is why we offer young people internship opportunities with us, giving them practical insights to help them choose a career. We also support local charitable organisations, and we are involved in two sponsorships on an international level – for a boy from Haiti and a girl from Guinea-Bissau.
We love what we do, and enjoy going to work each day. And thanks to after-work events and other company parties, we also have fun together outside office hours.

You can send us your application documents in Word, Excel or PDF format. Whether you send everything in one file or multiple is up to you. Please make sure that your documents are no larger than 25 MB.
Once you’ve emailed in your application, you should get an email from us to confirm receipt – if not, please check whether your application was actually sent. Successful applicants who meet our requirements for the vacancy are then invited to take part in a phone interview, while all other applicants receive a rejection letter by email. A rejection is in no way a judgement or a reflection of doubt regarding your abilities; sometimes a recruitment choice comes down to mere details. Please understand that although we’re unable to send every applicant a rejection letter detailing the reasons upon which our decision was based; however you can contact our HR manager by phone at any time to ask us about our decision.
A confirmation will be sent to your email address as soon as your application is received. If you do not receive a confirmation, please check your spam filter as well as the size of your attachments. Your documents should be no larger than 25 MB.
The application process depends on the vacancy. We usually start with a 20-minute phone interview, during which we ask you some questions about your application and motivations. If successful, you will be invited to a maximum of two interviews with management, human resources and supervisors. Some vacancies also involve a trial period during which you can get accustomed to both the job and team.
We store the personal data that you provide only until the application process is completed.
In the event that you’ve sent us a speculative application, or we can’t currently offer you another position for other reasons, we will ask you whether we may keep your details on file, or not. If you consent to this in writing (informally via email), your data will be stored for another six months. After those six months, you’ll need to give written consent to keep your details on file. Otherwise, your data will be deleted.
