Well-known Hamburg translation company tolingo has, for the first time, received the sought-after certification ISO 27001 from TÜV SÜD for its secure and confidential handling of translation and client data. The standard defines requirements for the introduction, implementation, monitoring and improvement of an information security management system.
This allows tolingo, as an international provider of specialist translations, to demonstrate the high quality of all the processes and controls it uses in this area. With ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, the company is clearly positioning itself as a pioneer with regard to data and information security in the translation market.
The certification reflects the high standards that tolingo expects from its IT system and data security, as well as from its employees.
“We are very proud to be one of the first translation agencies in Germany to receive this certificate. Especially in the current era of digitisation and internationalisation, it is very important for us to offer our clients the highest security standard,” explains managing director Jens Völkel.
“Being awarded the certificate is a confirmation that our continuous efforts to improve security have been successful, and that we are able to meet high quality standards for data security on an international level,” he adds.
tolingo was already certified under the international standard ISO 17100:2015 by certification body LinquaCert in August 2015, and underwent a recertification audit for confirmation purposes in September this year. Together with ISO 9001:2015 certification for the quality management system, this provides further clear evidence of tolingo’s high level of service quality.
