What is tolingo, and how does it work?

tolingo is an online translation agency. We've made assigning and processing translation orders significantly more transparent and flexible for clients and translators than is the case with classic agencies. Our focus is on the criteria of quality, speed, and cost efficiency.
The translation order process starts when the client uploads the text for translation. This text is then immediately processed by a suitable translator within the system and then proofread by a translator with the same qualifications. After successful review, the translated text is delivered to the client.

Do I incur any cost in registering with tolingo?

No, an account with tolingo is completely free for clients as well as for translators.

In what languages can my text be translated?

tolingo offers certified translations in over 220 language combinations with its pool of over 6,000 translators. All adequately available language combinations can be found in our price calculator. If you require a different language combination, call us and we will try to make this possible.

What can I do if the price calculator doesn't recognize my text?

If there is a problem in uploading your file, send us an email at sales@tolingo.com. We will do our best to answer your question as quickly as possible.

Does tolingo have a minimum charge?

Even small translations of only a few words have administrative expenses. Emails and invoices must be written, and money transferred. For this reason, we have a minimum charge of $ 21.32 to cover these costs.

Our advice: for especially small texts taken out of context, let the translator know what the translation is for and in what context it will be used.

Is the price generated by the price calculator binding, or could additional charges be incurred if the translation is longer or more difficult than initially indicated?

We keep out word. The price that you receive as an estimate from the price calculator or in your custom quote is guaranteed. Please note that this is a net price.

How does the payment process work at tolingo?

Payment for the translation is always made in advance, and can be made via credit card, PayPal, bank transfer, or debit. Payment by invoice can be set up for regular customers and corporate clients. Send us your inquiry at sales@tolingo.com.

Do I have the possibility to voice my specific requests for my translation?

For any order, you have the possibility to send a briefing to the translator via the comment field. Here you can let the translator know about specific requests or information about the order so that you can receive the best possible product. Please try to formulate your instructions as clearly and succinctly as possible. If there are still questions about your order, the translator can ask questions through tolingo. In this case, you will be notified by us promptly.

How does tolingo ensure the quality of all translations?

At tolingo, only demonstrably qualified translators are employed for your individual order. All translators at tolingo have committed to having their work carefully evaluated. In addition, each translation is revised by a translator with the same qualifications in order to guarantee the highest possible quality standard.

How quickly will my text be translated by tolingo?

The delivery date for your translation is indicated in the estimate or quote. If you need a text returned especially quickly, place your order as an Express order (at an additional charge).

How do I know when my translation is complete, and how do I receive the completed document?

As soon as the document is completed, you receive an email from us with a link with which you can retrieve your translation. You can choose whether you would like to receive your text by email or download the document directly. If you have a special request for the delivery of your document, please talk to you personal point of contact.

In which file format do I receive my translation?

Documents in which the formatting is electronically readable are sent back after translating in the same format. If this is not the case (for example, pdf files), you receive your translation in a pure text form. Please note, images and text in images are generally not included in the translation. You can send these to us at sales@tolingo.com for an additional charge to your order.

Why do I need an account with tolingo, and can I delete it later on?

The account is there to manage your translation orders with tolingo. With it you can create orders, observe the progress on current translations, and download completed documents.

Upon your request, your user account at tolingo can be deleted at any time, without giving a reason. Your personal data will be completely deleted. To request that your user account be deleted, please send us an email at info@tolingo.com.

What happens to my personal data?

Your personal data, which is required for the seamless flow of order processing, is handled by us in strict confidentiality (you can find additional information in our Privacy Terms in Legal Notice).

Your account is protected by a password that is known only to you. You have complete access to your personal data at all times, and can completely delete it as required.

Who guarantees the security of sensitive data in assigned translations?

tolingo handles your text in strict confidentiality. Since our translators work on your text directly in tolingo's system, thus eliminating the downloading of your document to a third party computer, your data is in the best hands with us. In addition, all tolingo translators have agreed to our privacy policy and are thus obligated to absolute discretion.

What happens in the case of a complaint?

If you are not satisfied with the quality of your translation, contact your personal point of contact or send an email to support@tolingo.com. We will review your concern as quickly as possible and discuss any further action with you.
